The middle day of our stay here began slightly
overcast and cool, however, Google on our phones says rain likely and only a
high of 62F. It just might be a day spent indoors like a museo or something
similar.
Off we set after our morning coffee and croissant we wandered up to
the Mercado and found it was just a single Gadis supermarket and not a market
afterall. Next was a coffee in the main plaza before striking out to find that
art museo. The Museo was 3 levels of paintings, on the ground level they were
holding art classes for the children ages 5 and below along with parents which
was quite a noisy bunch all having fun.
Interesting that Jane had liked a
portrait of Charles I of England and Paul had take a photo of it as well. When
Charles I was beheaded Cromwell took over until Charles II came into power and
push Cromwell aside. Paul finished the museo first and did some people watching
out front. Together they felt the pangs of hunger decided it was time find an
establishment offering midday Saturday eats. Paul wanted La Brasa (grilled
meat), Jane ordered barbecued chicken, Paul an entrecote along with a spicy hot
chorizo sausage which was outstanding. Ensalada, fries completed the meal
followed by a tarta de Santiago -- cake of Santiago. Back to the hotel for a
siesta, when they ventured out at 7:30 the Saturday rain had arrived. A first
in nearly 5 years the umbrellas were popped out to shield them form the
intermittent downpours. Back to the Bar Victoria for pinchos and then to the
other la brasa grill that they had found which included a very tasty paella
valenciana.
A fairly quiet Saturday but it was a calm day and
a break from constantly being on the go was a treat none the less. Sunday will
be long day in the car which has a rainy forecast with thunder showers too.
Could be an interesting travel day for sure.
