In Galicia, they grow wine whereever they can!
In Galecia you will come across
these Strange and Beautiful Small Buildings
They are called " Herroe's " originally used as Drying Sheds.
PRELUDE: In 2014 Jane and I explored España first in Galicia and then down to the south after a 2-day stopover in Madrid. It was such a great trip, diverse in both weather and cultures that we decided to duplicate our efforts again in 2016. For the most part, we will venture to cities and locales NOT previously visited during our annual exploration of our adopted homeland.

Granada
We will travel by train Madrid-Leon and stay in Paradores at Leon, Puebla de Sanabria, Baiona, Pontevedria, Gijon and back to Leon with stops in Ponferrada and A Coruna, as well. Dave and Joyce Murray from the UK will join up with us at Baiona and Pontevedria. We will take the train back to Madrid for two days and then another train Madrid - Alicante for overnight stops in the South and Southeast of Spain: Alicante, Cartagena, Lorca,
Ǔbeda, Almedinilla, Granada, Orgiva and Malaga before the AVE train back up to Madrid to catch our Delta Flight to Atlanta

  1. A most appropriate photograph, as yesterday was the 400 th anniversary of the death of Cervantes, creator of Don Quijote de La Mancha. That delusional knight who tilted at windmills, perhaps these, believing them to be giants.
